ALBION ARRANGES AN124 CHARTER FOR DUBAI EXPO 2020

The Albion cargo team recently chartered one of the world’s largest cargo aircraft, the AN124, to uplift an urgent shipment of furniture items for the launch of the Dubai Expo 2020. The cargo, weighing just over 20T and measuring 418 cubic meters in volume consisted of fragile furniture which was originally planned for sea freight, but due to delays had to be airlifted urgently from Athens (Greece) to Dubai (UAE). Due to the fragile nature of the cargo, some of the cargo had to be repacked for airfreight and required careful load planning to ensure that all the cargo could be transported safely. The Albion team also worked closely with one of its long term logistic partners Mission Express who assisted with the local airport formalities in Athens.

Lewis King, director of the Albion Aviation Group, comments: “This AN124 charter required a lot of meticulous planning and all within an extremely short space of time, but with the extensive support of the experienced AN124 carrier the flight was a success and it’s an honour for Albion to be able to support the Dubai Expo 2020 via one of our clients”.
