ALBION ARRANGES AN124 CHARTER TO WEST AFRICA FOR URGENT O&G EQUIPMENT

The Albion cargo team were tasked with moving an urgent consignment of seven 20ft SOC’s and specialized O&G equipment which had missed a vessel sailing from Jebel Ali, UAE to Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. Due to the weights and the number of 20ft SOC’s the only aircraft which has the capacity to uplift such a shipment in one flight is the AN124.  Prior to the flight, the Albion cargo team sent a Flight Manager to inspect all of the cargo at different sites across the UAE, so as to ensure that all the 20ft SOC’s were within the lifting capacity of the AN124’s internal cranes (i.e. <20T) and that they all had suitable lifting points.  Arrangements were also made at the departure and arrival airports to ensure that adequate handling equipment was available, i.e. 7x 20ft dollies, so that the loading/offloading could be executed successfully and without delay.  This cargo charter flight is yet another demonstration of the Albion Aviation Group’s expertise in handling time critical and outsize charter requests.
