ALBION ARRANGES URGENT IL76 CHARTER FOR THE QATAR FORMULA ONE

Working closely alongside one of its industry partners in the entertainment sector, the Albion cargo team arranged an urgent IL76 charter flight to uplift 11,000kg/110cbm of furniture items in time for the inaugural Formula One Grand Prix in Doha, Qatar (19-21 Nov 2021). The cargo had to be carefully repacked under the guidance of the Albion cargo team to optimise loadability in the IL76 aircraft. Albion positioned one of its experienced Flight Manager’s to the client’s warehouse to supervise the cargo repacking process.  Steve (Albion Flight Manager) commented: “Unlike using palletized cargo aircraft, where you build-up cargo onto ULD’s, the IL76 is typically considered a bulk loading aircraft and requires careful planning when trying to optimize the CBM.  However, by working closely with the operator’s loadmaster we were able to devise an optimal loadplan and repack the cargo in such a way to ensure that all the client’s cargo could be uplifted in one flight.

From flight confirmation to the aircraft arriving in Qatar, the Albion cargo team was able to deliver yet another successful cargo charter flight in just under 72hrs.
